Heller also spends a long time describing all the nature around him.Īfter Hig is triggered to actually do something, the book becomes interesting but then I felt the plot was so rushed in the last half. I had to force myself to get past it because it was starting to get repetitive. The first half of the book was setting up the background and I wish that part would have been shorter. He needs to see what else is out there and takes his plane as far as it can fly. He likes to go with the flow until one day he can’t anymore. Hig doesn’t agree but knows that Bangley has kept him alive for nine years so he doesn’t really argue. He’s a pilot that has been living on an airfield with a gun nut Bangley who is of the opinion that anyone that comes into their space is an enemy and should be shot.
